Gate
A rift that opens at random in the world and leads to a dungeon. Hunters have thirty minutes to close it.
A gate is a rift that opens at random in the world and leads to a dungeon. Since the Day of the Rift, they have been part of life in Deunghwa: the Bongsu guild “lights the beacons” whenever one opens.
Where gates appear
The world is divided into zones, one per biome, each with its required level. A gate opens in the zone that matches its rank, on accessible, open ground: never on water, on top of a peak or under a tree, and never too close to a city.
A gate is not always visible from afar: you have to know how to look for it.
Finding a gate
Every hunter receives a map showing nearby gates, their rank, their distance and their remaining time.
- Held in hand, it gives a quick overview.
- Right-click with the map or M: the full province map, with the gates sorted by distance.
- “Follow this gate” shows it on a compass at the top of the screen, with its countdown.
The higher your Perception, the further away you can see gates.
Entering a gate
| Situation | What happens |
|---|---|
| In a party | The leader starts the entry; members within 30 blocks have 20 seconds to answer “Ready?”. |
| Alone | “Enter alone” opens a private instance; “Fill a party” joins an instance with free slots. |
| Late | You can join your party during the first 5 minutes, never once the boss fight has started. |
| Full gate | After 3 instances, the gate disappears from the world and the map. |
Each instance has 5 slots. A party of three leaves two slots free: its leader decides whether hunters without a party may take them (closed by default).
Rank and danger
A hunter whose rank is too low is refused entry, unless a member of their party has the required rank.
Closing
As soon as a party defeats the boss, the gate closes and disappears; other parties still inside finish normally. If nobody has closed it after 30 minutes, it overflows.
